Indigo Hair Studio

Indigo Hair Studio (IHS) recently moved and needed signage for their new location.

When Savanna (founder) initially came to me, IHS was already operating under an existing brand identity. An identity Savanna was not married to and she was kind enough to ask my opinion, see what I thought, and allow me to make changes, if necessary. After studying and seeing potential in some areas, I took the opportunity to thicken up lines, sharpen details, and activate a new set of typefaces to upgrade the brand. I also surveyed the site to see what was possible for Savanna at her new location.

We decided to move forward with glass graphics. This would allow us to quickly produce the end result because time was of the essence. Savanna needed something to label her storefront as she was due to move into the new location soon. This also helped us avoid any collisions with the town over permitting. Depending on the type of signage desired, permits may need to be pulled and those take time.

IHS operates under an “appointment only” model, so it was crucial to make it convenient for potential clients to book appointments. For the design, we utilized the new logo, typefaces and a QR code for the appointment model. Now, the new logo informs the public who and where IHS is, the typefaces are legible from afar, and the QR code streamlines the process of booking appointments. That’s what I like to call a “win-win-win”.

Shout out to Savanna for trusting me with her brand and providing me with work, ID Sign Group for producing top-notch vinyl graphics, and Paul Smith for assisting me with the installation.
